８月のロンドン歩く会 写真リポート Epping Forest / Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge Walk on Sunday, 6th August

Epping Forest /Elizabethan Hunting Lodge Walk on Sunday 6^th AugustTwenty two members of the ‘London Walking’ group met at Loughton underground station for a 10:30 am start. We set off towards the forest, walked for about 15 minutes along old Station road, crossed Loughton High Road and into Forest Road. The weather was kind to us and we were soon amongst the ancient oak trees on the edge the forest near Staples Pond. We made our way to the ‘Green Ride’ path over wooden bridges, uphill, turning left towards Chingford and the historic hunting lodge. After a 1.5 hour walk through Epping Forest we reached our destination, the Queen Elizabeth I Hunting Lodge, woodland museum, gallery and pub. We spent some time looking around this site before meeting at the pub for our lunch and drinks. Our return was via a different route back into the forest, meeting our outward path and returning to Loughton. As the weather was still fine and warm we ‘all’ went to one of the local pubs for a well-earned drink before returning to Loughton Station.

８月の例会は ロンドン北西の端にある、エッピングの森 Epping Forest にあるエリザベス（１世）女王の狩猟館を散策しました。

いい天気の中、１０時３０分、地下鉄セントラル線のラウトン駅に集合。

住宅地を抜け、森への道に入ります。森林浴って感じですね。

１時間半ほどして、１２時１５分過ぎ、狩猟館 Queen Elizabeth I Hunting Lodge へ到着。ミューゼアムになっていて、中には当時のテューダー時代を忍ばせる展示物があります。 The View という見晴台テラスに上がり（ファーストフロア程度の高さですが）、森が一望に見晴らせます。

１時に隣接のパブでランチ。

列車を間違い、乗り遅れたが、パブで追いついた１名を加え、本日は２２名でした。
午後２時１５分に再び歩き出し、駅を目指します。

４時前には駅近のパブに到着。いっぱい引っ掛けて帰途に着きました。みなさまお疲れ様でした。
