8月のウォークは地元に詳しいMax とChiyoさんご夫妻がチルターン・ウォークを計画してくれました。
＜チャーリーとチョコレート工場＞などの原作で知られる、ドアルド・ダールのミューゼアムや住んでいた家などがあるグレート・ミッセンデンからスタートし、アマーシャムのオールドタウンを訪ねます。

[昼食/Lunch] オールド・アマシャムのパブやカフェで各自昼食をおとりください。予約はしません。/ Take lunch break in Old Amersham. No reservation will be arranged.
[解散/Leaving] 午後4時頃 アマシャム駅 (チルターン/地下鉄メトロポリタン線) / Approx. 4:00pm from Amersham station (Chiltern / Metropolitan line)
[距離/Distance] 11.71km (about 7.28 miles)
This is a gentle and easy walking course from Great Missenden to Amersham via Little Kingshill, Little Missenden and Old Amersham.
We start from Great Missenden, which is known as a home town of a famous British writer Roald Dahl.
We will follow the South Bucks Way to Little Kingshill and to Little Missenden. Then we will visit a historic church, St John the Baptist,
where you can see medieval wall paintings (the church is usually open to public, but subject to change).
After about 3 hours of walking, we will arrive in Old Amersham, a historic market town, where we will take a lunch break.
There is a selection of pubs, restaurants and cafes in Old Amersham, so take your pick and meet back in 1.5 hours.
If there is time, you can browse some shops too.
After lunch, we will head to Amersham station. This will be a very short walk, just under 1 hour.
Most of the paths are flat and easy to walk, so this course will be suitable for inexperienced walkers.
(But also enjoyable for experienced walkers too!)

Recommended train time: 9:27am from London Marylebone. We recommend buying a return ticket from London Marylebone to Great Missenden.
