１月のロンドン歩く会・写真レポート Highgate Walk Saturday, 22nd of January

曇り空の下、朝１０時にヘンドン・セントラル駅に参加者が集まりました。去年１０月に歩く会を再開してから、４回目のウォークですが、今回は、なんと総勢２８名。

久々のヒットです。

駅を出て、キャピタルリングのルートを辿りヘンドンパークを出て、ノースサーキュラーを横目にブレント川沿いのひっそりとして静かなフットパスに入ります。

ブレントパークを出るところで最初の集合写真。小さな公園のフットパスをいくつかすぎ、瀟洒な住宅地を過ぎて、１２時前にイースト・フィンチュリーの駅到着。

ここで、弓矢の像をバックにまた写真。

駅のすぐそばのチェリーツリー・パークを過ぎて、ハイゲイトの森へ突入です。中のカフェでトイレ休憩ののち、ランチパブへ向かいます。

ランチは１２時４５分に予約していたのですが、森の中でも迷ったため、到着が１時過ぎになってしまいました。

事前に確認しておいたにもかかわらず、パブの対応にちょっと問題があり、数人の方は別のパブで昼食を取られました。

ランチ後、午後３時出発。すぐそばのジョージ・マイケルの住んでいた家を推定しながら参拝？して、ウォーターロウ・パークで、隣のハイゲイト墓地のマルクスさんを柵越しにチラ見しました。

ここから１０分ほどで、アーチウェイ駅に到着、午後４時過ぎに解散としました。

下見をしたにもかかわらず、一度ならず、道に迷ったリーダーをお許しください。皆様、お疲れ様でした。

At the moment, our top number of 28 people have joined on Saturday, our walk were heading to Brent River first, after passed Hendon Park(first group photo), alongside of North Circular, busy road. Passed several small but nice parks’s footpath, we arrived East Finchley Station before noon to take group photo with roof top archer statue. We went Cherry Tree Park next to the station, then went into Highgate Wood, we did pit stop for toilet at cafe, then went to Pub for lunch.

Although pub staff compromised after a bit of problem about reservation, some members went to lunch to other pubs, and we meet again at 3pm after lunch.

We popped in late George Michael’s Highgate house (no sign however), we went to Waterlow Park then we saw Karl Marx’s tomb in Cemetery from the park side.

We finished walk at Archway Station about 4pm, hope everybody enjoyed today’s walk.  Mimi
